After 6-month absence, ’s back on Instagram

Millions of fans of R&B singing sensation, Rihanna, were walking on cloud nine when the singer’s Instagram page was reactivated Saturday night.

Back by popular demand, Instagram reactivated the ‘Unapologetic’ singers page, which boasts some 12.91 million followers, after 26 weeks of fan protest.

Using the handle @badgalriri, Rihana posted the above photo along with the hashtags to @instagram #RIHunited #badgalback.

The singer’s account was widely rumoured to have been deactivated because she posted photos of herself on a magazine cover fully naked.

Under Instagram’s terms of service “You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content” via the service.

But fans were outraged when they learnt that the Instagram page of their “idol” was deactivated, protesting for months with the hashtag #bringbackbadgalriri.
