Laughton has joined the bandwagon of celebrities to have turned their lives around becoming a born again Christian.

The “Favourite Boy” hit maker shared the news with her fans on social media expressing her joy of being baptized at the Pure in Heart Ministries International church.

Alaine Gets Baptized, Plans To Release More Music, Shocks Fans

On Saturday morning (July 21), Alaine was baptised by gospel singjay and ordained Minister Ryan Mark at Hellshire Beach in St Catherine.

“I’ve always loved God… I’ve always loved Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us… So it makes sense in my life to make a public declaration,” Alaine told media reporters.

“I really love Jesus and want Him to make me do the things He wants me to do,” she added.

“The last time you had us thinking you got married. Is this another publicity stunt,” a user chimed.

Alaine said her conversion was inevitable.

“All throughout my career I’ve been singing about love, whether it be brotherly or that of a man and woman… I’ve written songs about it, so now it’s about loving Jesus,” she explained.

As it relates to her music, she expressed that fans expect more songs from her in the future.

“It’ll be a future of blessings… more music and more things,” she said.

Alaine, whose full name is Alaine Laughton, is the second artiste in recent times to convert to Christianity. Last month singjay Wayne Marshall shared his locks and professed his new-found faith. The “No Ordoinary Love” singer also joined Marion Hall (formerly Lady Saw), who was baptized in late 2015 and has offially become a minister earlier this month.

The 39 year-old singer is best known for hits such as “No Ordinary Love,” “Sincerely,” and “Rise In Love.”
