Capleton, who is facing a rape charge, had his bail extended when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday (June 14).

The Reggae superstar, who is out on $250,000 bail, is to return to court on July 13.

The prosecution was also ordered to make disclosure to the defence by June 21.

The 51-year-old, whose real name is Clifton Bailey, was arrested and charged on May 11.

According to the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, on Saturday, April 28, around 11:20 am, Bailey hired a female hairdresser to groom his hair at a hotel in the New Kingston area.

The report further alleged that while at the hotel, he forcibly had sexual intercourse with the woman.

Attorney Christopher Townsend, who is representing , has denied the allegations and maintained that his client is innocent.

Capleton is know for hits such as “Jah Jah City,” “Slew Dem,” and “In Har Heart.”
