Model-cum-actress Cara Delevingne opens up about losing her virginity and when she, “didn’t want to exist anymore.”

 has opened up about her battle with depression, which left her feeling suicidal during her teenage years, to Esquire magazine.

The model-cum-actress and star of new film Suicide Squad said that there was a period of her life when she, “didn’t want to exist anymore.”

She said, “When it got to being a teenager and all the hormones and the pressure and wanting to do well at school I had a mental breakdown.

“I was suicidal. I couldn’t deal with it anymore. I realized how lucky and privileged I was, but all I wanted to do was die. I felt so guilty because of that and hated myself because of that, and then it’s a cycle. I didn’t want to exist anymore. I wanted for each molecule of my body to disintegrate. I wanted to die.”

The British star also added that she never wants to rely on medication.

Speaking about the day she stopped taking them when she was 18, she said:

“That week, I lost my virginity, I got into fights, I cried, I laughed.”
