Chronixx, Damian Marley and Morgan Heritage are the Jamaican nominees for Best Reggae Album of the 2018 Grammy Award.

The nominees in the 60th have been revealed.

, and are the Jamaican nominees for Best Reggae Album category in the 2018 Grammy Awards, along with Common King and J Boog.

Chronixx’s Chronology, Marley’s Stony Hill and Morgan Heritage’s Avrakedabra are up against Common Kings’ Lost in Paradise and J Boog’s Wash House Ting.

This is the second nomination for Morgan Heritage, who won in 2016 for Strictly Roots. Marley is going for his third Best Reggae album win, having won for Half Way Tree (2002) and Welcome to Jamrock (2005).

This is the second nomination for Hawaiian reggae artiste J Boog. His Rose Petals (EP) was nominated last year.

This is the first nomination for both Chronixx and California reggae band Common Kings.

J Boog is of Samoan descent and born in the US, while members of the California, US, based Common Kings have roots in Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga.

The 2018 Grammy Awards ceremony takes place at Madison Square Garden, New York City on January 28.
