In an unexpected twist of events, Dancehall newcomer Devin Di Dakta has been nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Reggae Album” category.
The collaboration “EP Sly & Robbie Presents … Reggae For Her” features eight songs written by Devin and J.L. on the Tuff Gong International, Taxi Records label have been selected in the Best Reggae Album category of the 59th Grammy awards.
The entertainer took to social media to announce the news.

Vybz Kartel and Alkaline released “King of the Dancehall” and “New Level Unlocked,” respectively, this year to much acclaim but both albums were omitted from the nominees.
In fact, no Dancehall album was nominated this year in the category.
