Lanez, who had been open about his desires to dethrone Drake, surprised his fan on Thursday (May 18) when he posed for a snap and joined the “Energy” crooner to share it on Instagram.
“The city needs more of this and less of that,” Drake captioned the photo of him and the “LUV” rapper.
“Toronto… I Told You,” Lanez wrote on Instagram.
Drake and Tory Lanez, despite being two of Toronto’s biggest musical stars, have never collaborated with one another.
The pair has, instead, spent the past two years appears to address one another subliminally on their own songs.
Both artists have had their fare share of success as of late.
Tory Lanez’ debut album I Told You peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and with the single “LUV” earning the rapper his first Grammy nomination.
Drake recently released his playlist-album More Life, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
