Fifth Harmony has spoken out about Camila Cabello's surprising departure, sharing a lengthy and emotional message.

The remaining members of girl group (5H) have expressed how they feel about the surprising decision of and her management team to leave the group.

Through a messaged posted to the groups social media accounts, 5H members claimed that they “pleaded” with Cabello to not leave the group.

It was also revealed that the band had organized a counseling session for the entire group, which Cabello chose to be absent from.

Cabello has had solo success with singles “Bad Things” with MGK, which is on the billboards hot 100 charts and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes.

It’s said that the group knew of Cabello’s intentions to leave the group since Mid-November after the televised Jungle Ball performance. This was in fact confirmed by Cabello.

A message from the group on the situation and Cabello reads:

“Over the past several months we have consistently made every effort to sit down and discuss the future of Fifth Harmony with Camila, we have spent the past year and a half (since her initial solo endeavor) trying to communicate to her and her team all of the reasons why we felt Fifth Harmony deserved at least one more album of her time, given the success of this past year that we’d all worked so hard for.”

The group ended by saying:

“We have tried with exhausted efforts and hearts to keep this group alive as the five of us, and we want it to be very clear that unfortunately those efforts were not mutual.”

The group though has been staying positive, “onwards and upward” is the direction they say they’ve chosen to go.
