Jamaican-born model and actress Parisa Fitz-Henley joins the elite Marvel Cinematic Universe – featuring prominently in the first season of its Jessica Jones Netflix sequence, which premiered on November 20.
Fitz-Henley plays superhero Luke Cage’s wife – Reva Connors – in the 13-episode, binge-ready launch. The Harlem-born Connors is implicated in human experiments, which subsequently results in her demise.
Fitz-Henley’s Reva Connors factors significantly in the broody arc, which links major characters by means of guilt, manipulation and violence.
The deceased Connors appears in flashbacks, a keepsake photograph as well as verbal references.
Fitz-Henley, who gave a noteworthy performance in Jessica Jones, is no stranger to the big and small screens. She has appeared in Bluebird, The Jane Austen Book Club, House of Cards, and Blue Bloods; along with Shondaland’s Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off Private Practice. The actress is also a model, who has worked with Sears, Cadbury’s, Modern Bride, and Cosmo.

The opinions are overwhelmingly positive for the incorrigible superhero-turned-private-detective Jones. Forbes.com dubbed it the “best series of the year”, while Vox.com was poetic, stating that the superhero series is “…perhaps the most artistically and thematically ambitious project Marvel has ever embarked upon”.
Jessica Jones is at the moment registering a 92 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and an 81 per cent on Metacritic, in addition to a 9.3 out of 10 rating from IGN.com.
Netflix previously partnered with Marvel to launch Jones’ predecessor, Daredevil, earlier this year – to rave reviews. Additionally, Iron Fist and Luke Cage sequence are anticipated to follow Jessica Jones.
Actress Krysten Ritter, best known for her role as Jane Margolis in cult classic Breaking Bad, stars in the title role. The Good Wife’s Mike Colter portrays Cage. Other cast members include Matrix alum Carrie-Anne Moss and Doctor Who favourite, David Tennant.
