Konshens went to a specialist in Vienna Austria who diagnosed him with ‘chronic laryngitis’ prescribing a list of medication and two (2) weeks of serious rest.
However, Konshens failed to follow the doctor’s advice to cancelling one show on his tour.
The Jamaican deejay’s condition worsened in Zurich.
Doctors in Frankfurt, Germany warned the deejay that if he continued then his condition could grow to become more damaging to his voice and hearing with the possibility of becoming permanently impaired.
Laryngitis occurs when your voice box (larynx) and vocal cords become swollen and irritated. This fairly common condition often causes hoarseness or loss of voice.
A range of issues can cause laryngitis, including long-term smoking, acid reflux, voice overuse, or viral infections such as cold and flu viruses.
In a release, Konshens and his management team say they had no choice but to reluctantly cancel the remainder of the tour adding that the necessary steps to heal is important.
Konshens have been touring non-stop for the past year, making stops in the US and across Europe.
The deejay is set to return to Jamaica within the next week, where in will begin is recuperation process.
Konshens new album titled ‘The Hotel Room’ is set for a September release.
