Despite their low-key break-up, the “If I Ruled the World” rapper is still hopeful he and the “Moment 4 Life” rapper will have a baby together.

“Nas is heartbroken things did not work out between him and Nicki [Minaj]. He sincerely wanted Nicki to have his baby and he is not giving up hope that they could still have a family together one day. Nas feels like timing is everything and he still has a lot of love for who he thinks is the sexiest woman in the rap game. Things might be over for now, but Nas refuses to give up loving Nicki,” a source close to Nicki Minaj told Hollywood Life.

The strain of living on two different coasts (Nicki stays in Miami while Nas lives in Los Angeles for most of their 7-month relationship) proved to be too much, according to TMZ.

The breakup also comes after a previous report claimed Nicki was pregnant with Nas’ baby, but that’s obviously not true.

Nas has been extremely hurt over his split with Nicki, as he’s still holding out hope for a future with her, according to sources.

The two rappers went public [sort of] back in May 2017 when Nicki gushed over their budding romantic relationship on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Reports are that the former couple respects each other, and there won’t be any trash talking.

However, on the other hand, they won’t be hanging out as friends either, according to sources.
