Ninja Man was sentenced to 25 years in prison, Hype Life Magzine has learned.
The Dancehall veteran, along with his son Janeil and another man, Dennis Clayton, has been imprisoned for the 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson (Ricky Trooper).
The Jamaican entertainer must serve at least 25 years in prison before he is eligible to be released on parole.
His co-convicts, Janeil and Dennis Clayton, will each have to serve 15 years behind bars.
Justice Martin Gayle handed down sentences in the Home Circuit Court on Monday (Dec 18).
The judge sentenced Ninja Man, whose real name is Desmond Ballentyne, to 25 years at hard labour for the murder of the deaceased Kingston man, and 20 years for shooting with intent in relation to another person.
“Thumbs up, judge,” Ninja Man said after his sentence was announced, according to media reporters.
Sources said the other convicts showed no emotion.
All three men were convicted last month of murder and shooting with intent.
During the five-week trial, prosecutors Kathy Pyke and Nicholas Edmund led evidence that the killing stemmed from a domestic altercation “over Kitchen spac” in the St. Andrew community of Lower Mall Road.
