Yendi Phillipps, through thick and thin, has found unconditional love!
The Jamaica beauty queen stirred controversy on social media on Tuesday (Oct 10) when she uploaded an intimate photo with her daughter Isreal McGregor and longtime lover.
“TBT August, 2014”, the Jamaican TV personality wrote along with a slew of hashtags, “My Family, My World, My Heart, Uncondtional, Limitless, Love Is, Through Thick And Thin, In Good Times And Bad, Thank You Lord, I Pray Your Will, I Pray Your Divine Plan, For My Loved Ones and Ok Im Done.”
However, while Phillipps received mostly positive feedback on her cozy throwback photo, many social media users including fans of Jamaican recording artist Chino McGregor, father of her daughter, weren’t pleased about her “My Family” hashtag.
After their breakup, Phillipps filed for full custody of their daughter and demanded $60,000 per month for child support from Chino. She also asked the court to order him to pay half of their child’s educational and medical expenses.
“Style she a style the boss [Chino] have next man a pose wid him daughter dat luuu,” one user wrote.
“From Asafa to Chino to Mr Nobody,” another added.
Meanwhile, Several other online users then defended Yendi Phillipps’s photo post.
“People are so ignorant and so disrespectful… he is a nobody because u guys don’t know of him?? Maybe he’s richer than both of them and maybe he treats her very well tf… she’s happy with the mr nobody so that says a lot,” a user wrote.
“How many of you are still with ur baby father ….ill wait. Leave the woman alone. She’s happy I’m happy. I’m happy for every one less unhappy lonely person in the world. Focus on YOUR own personal journey of peace,” another wrote.
Yendi Phillipps was the winner of the Miss Jamaica World 2007 beauty pageant, as well as the Miss Jamaica Universe 2010 pageant.
Before Chino, she dated Jamaican sprint superstar, Asafa Powell.
