Dancehall artiste Popcaan, who is reportedly preparing to drop a new album in 2016, has been focusing on a mixture of music genres such as Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and Electronic.

In January, Popcaan was featured on English duo AlunaGeorge’s Electronic single “I’m in Control”. The heavy dance track’s visual was filmed in Dominica Republic.
Last year, the “Unruly Boss” deejay was featured on Jamie xx’s Funk/Hip Hop hit single “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” with American rapper Young Thug.
He is also featured on Melissa Steel’s “Kisses for Breakfast” single, which was a top ten hit in the UK in August 2014.
That same year, Popcaan signed to Mixpak Records for a multi-album deal. His debut album, Where We Come From, which was executive-produced by Dre Skull, was released on Mixpak on 10 June 2014. The album also features additional productions from Dubbel Dutch, Anju Blaxx, Jamie YVP and Adde Productions.
In 2012, Popcaan was featured on Pusha T’s song “Blocka”. His voice was then sampled by Kanye West on Yeezus in 2013.
He has toured in Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean and South American region.
While in Canada, Popcaan connected with Canadian rapper Drake, who has publicly expressed his admiraton.
In 2013, Popcaan released the video for “Unruly Rave”, which was shot in Toronto and directed by October’s Very Own label head Niko.
Popcaan recently joined the 2015 Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise, where he performed among stars like Damian Marley, Bounty Killer, Capleton, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley, Busy Signal, Morgan Heritage, Tanya Stephens and Cham.
He has also released new singles including Wicked Man Ting, Money Me A Study, How and Over Dweet.
