Following the release of his debut album, Dancehall artist Popcaan has landed in the number two position on the Billboard top reggae albums chart.

The 13 track album dubbed “Where We Come From” sits ahead of Ziggy Marley’s “Fly Rasta” which holds the number 3 position.

The album was executive produced by Brooklyn beatmaker and Mixpak label owner Dre Skull, aka Andrew Hershey, who’s become an unlikely heavyweight in the Jamaican music scene thanks to jubilant compositions like the Kling Klang and Loudspeaker riddims.

The Rebelution’s “Count Me In” sits at the top of the chart while Tribal Seeds rocks the number 4 position with “Representing.”

Bob Marley and the Wailers round out the top 5 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart with “Legend Remix.”

Dancehall deejay Popcaan got his big break by incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel thru his now dismantled Portmore Empire. Poppi collaborated with Kartel on his 2010 hit Clarks which also featured Vanessa Bling.
