has confirmed that a collaboration with is underway.

The Dancehall entertainer told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 of Apple Music that he anticipates the joint single with the Popstar to be released sometime this year.

“Well, I hope it come out this year still,” he responded to the possibility of working with Rihanna.

Last month, the reports surfaced that the Bajan singer, who has teased an all-Reggae album, and the Jamaican deejay were working together on a new track.

The Caribbean superstars linked up in Barbados back in December after she went back home for the street renaming ceremony for “Rihanna Drive” during Barbados Independence Day.

Popcaan, on Monday (June 25), dropped “Wine For Me” and “Firm and Strong,” which are featured on his long-awaited sophomore album, “Forever,” produced by Mixpak Records.

Both artists are yet to announce the official release dates for their upcoming albums.
