Popstar Rihanna teases fans as she is reportedly being eyed by Warner Bros. to play as Poison Ivy in the next Batman Movie.

is reportedly being courted by Warner Bros to play Poison Ivy in the next Batman movie.

With the production of 2021’s Robert Pattinson-starring The Batman set to begin next year, more and more details about the film have begun to leak out,  from plot details to casting rumors and more.

While early reports indicated that The Batman will feature Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, and Firefly, the number has since inflated to six, with iconic rogues such as Poison Ivy and Mad Hatter being brought into the conversation.

According to We Got This Covered, American entertainment company is eyeing none other than the pop star for the coveted role and she’s one of many on the studios’ internal wishlist. The report has made DC Extended Universe enthusiasts excited, especially as Ms. Ivy hasn’t been present on-screen since 1997.

While it’s unclear whether a formal offer has been extended to Rihanna, the singer-songwriter seemed to hint at the role in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“Bat-mobile, but make it fashion! get into this matte leather-rubber fusion tho,” she captioned the photo and tagged Fenty, her beauty and fashion brand.

The last time Poison Ivy made a theatrical appearance was in 1997’s Batman & Robin where Uma Thurman crushed the iconic role. Considering DC’s recent power female moves from Wonder Woman to Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn spin-off Birds of Prey, now is the most perfect time to reintroduce Poison Ivy to the franchise.

Rihanna has proven herself a multi-tasker of epic proportions. While much of that title relates to her entrepreneurial activity, she’s no stranger to the big screen either. The 31-year-old has appeared in films such as Battleship, This Is The End, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Ocean’s 8, and Guava Island.

On the subject of Rihanna’s ninth album, she recently registered a new song, “Private Loving,” with her music publisher BMI.
