Rita Marley, the widow of reggae superstar Bob Marley, was admitted to Miami hospital on September 22.
Mrs. Marley was admitted after suffering from symptoms consistent with a stroke.
On October 8, reports surfaced online that she passed away. Those reports are false, Hype Life Magazine has learned.
Rita is recovering at home with her daughter Cedilla.
Rita, who celebrated her 70th birthday in July, married Bob Marley in 1966.
She gave birth to three of the reggae legend’s children, Stephen, Ziggy, and Cedella Marley. She was also a backup singer for the band The Wailers.
Rita was lead vocalist for the reggae group the I Threes, with Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths.
Get well soon Rita Marley.
