During a recent interview with ER host Anthony Miller, the “Get Busy” star admitted that it would be impactful on the Dancehall scene in Jamaica if Kartel were to walk free.

“It would be a huge impact.” he stated.

Sean Paul said that while there are many appeals underway in Jamaica, Vybz Kartel’s case is the most popular right now and as a result, the incarcerated deejay is getting a lot of press coverage.

The “Temperature” deejay expressed that the impact of Kartel’s appeal could be “bad for kids” in a social way as they might think that the “law is easy to get around”.

Sean Paul further revealed that he wished Kartel’s appeal wouldn’t be so public as public opinion could influence his case.

“I can’t talk on Kartel’s case because I don’t know him personally, I’ve only met him two times in my life,” Sean Paul explained.

“I think he is an amazing talent, but as the court case… I wish it wouldn’t be such a public thing,” he stated.

Sean Paul, who is undoubtly one of the greatest Dancehall artists in history, released his first EP Mad Love The Prequel in June.

Vybz Kartel, who is also considered as one of the greatest acts to walk unto the Dancehall scene, has been dominating the headlines over the past few weeks as he appeals his murder conviction.
