Is Jamaican track and field sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, pregnant or is it just a rumor? That’s the question several individuals have been asking Hype Life Magazine over the past weeks.
Ahead of the Rio Olympics, multiple Jamaican based blogs have published reports that “social media is going to be shocked, that Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is pregnant.” However, this information has yet to be confirmed.
Efforts to get in touch with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce for a comment have proved futile.
In January 2011, she married long-term boyfriend Jason Pryce, changing her surname from Fraser to Fraser-Pryce.
Over the years, the sprinter shared images of her husband on social media.
“I’m not just His biggest fan…I’m his wife!!! ☺️💓,” she wrote.
On another, she wrote, “I am the luckiest woman in the world!.”
In the meanwhile, Fraser-Pryce says that she will try to win a third gold in Rio Olympics this summer.
“For me, I try not to think about it too much, because you find that if you think about it too much, then you start to panic at every little thing that goes on in training,” she recently told media reporters.
“I’m trying not to overwork the muscles because I’m thinking about accomplishing this great feat.”
Fraser-Pryce ascended to prominence in the 2008 Olympic Games when at 21 years old, the relatively unknown athlete became the first Caribbean woman to win 100m gold at the Olympics.
In 2012, she successfully defended her 100m title, becoming the third woman to win two consecutive 100m events at the Olympics.
Following her win in the 100m World Championships in 2015, the IAAF also referred to her as “possibly the greatest female sprinter in history.”
