The Jamaican recording artist raised eyebrows after she posted two photos of herself lying in bed with an unknown woman on Instagram last Friday.
While sources close to Shenseea confirmed to Hype Life Magazine that the viral photographs were scenes from the video shoot for her track, “Blessed,” featuring American rapper Tyga, many social media users expressed mixed reactions with some referring to the “Body Good” artist as an “lesbian”.
The “Trending Gyal” singjay received backlash from some online users who believe that she is sending a “bad message” for her young female fans. However, many fanatics of Shenseea hit back, suggesting that she is merely expressing her creative freedom as a Dancehall artist.
One fan chimed in on the topic via the comment section of Shenseea’s controversial post, making reference to the artist’s sexuality.
“Who really thought it wasnt a video. Shenseea done seh strictly d*ck,” the fan wrote to which Shenseea responded, “I didn’t say that either but ok.”
Supermodel Winnie Harlow also responded on the fan’s comment, lefting it known she is a huge fan of Shenseea.
“If it starts with ‘Ah Shenseea’ I want it, take my money thanks,” she wrote.
Shenseea’s reply reportedly left some Dancehall fans shook while others commended the “Tie Me Up” singjay for her “honesty.”
“I was defending you after you posted the video but now I can’t anymore and am not a fan anymore kmt,” one fan commented.
“The sexy suspense continues, but who cares, as long as you find pleasure, wherever or with whomever is your business. Keep them hooked and guessing mami,” another fan expressed.
Shenseea’s music video for “Blessed” received over 2 millions views on Youtube in just two days. She recently signed to Interscope Records and is looking forward to making a crossover on the international market.
