Snoop Dogg is embarking on another musical genre in 2018, as he looks to enter the Gospel genre.
The Hip-Hop legend has already stepped outside of his rap roots in the past, having released his reggae album “Reincarnation” in 2013 after briefly adopting his Rastafarian-inspired stage name Snoop Lion, and now he is considering making Christian music.
While the project has yet to be named, Snoop has been teasing the gospel project since June.
“I have always wanted to try Gospel,” Snoop Dogg recently told Billboard.
“This may surprise some people but all I gotta say is get ready for some good for your soul music in 2018! Ya know I’m always cookin’ up something. I’ll have some new projects for y’all in the New Year.”
The “Drop it like its hot” hitmaker also spoke about his recent music video for ‘My Last Name’, which was a tribute to his wife Shante Broadus.
While Snoop revealed he would love to collaborate with iconic British songstress Sade, he has also been hugely impressed by up and coming rapper STIX.
