Online reports are that claims Chin’s husband, Michael Anthony Cuffe Jr., has moved out of the couple’s home.
Cuffe, a Jamaican radio personality, married Chin in Ocho Rios after a year-long engagement.
On Monday, Tessanne Chin posted a message on Instagram and Facebook thanking her fans for their concerns and also asking for privacy.
“I truly appreciate your love and concern and I’m grateful for your respect of our privacy at this time,” Tessanne via Instagram.
Michael Cuffe has also broken his silence via Twitter while taking shots at the media.
“I used to say my life is an open book but this is ridiculous Tessanne is and always will be my best friend who I absolutely love!” – Cuffe via Twitter.
“The public’s interest in our personal life, though flattering, is a bit uncanny. I ask the media who I served for so long to be respectful.” – Cuffe via Twitter.
“We should strive to rise above irresponsible and careless journalism. Lets continue to uplift our audience and not inspire ignorance” – Cuffe via Twitter.
After winning The Voice in 2013, Chin told Access Hollywood she received some life advice from Canadian superstar Celine Dion.
“She said to wait five years to have kids, and I think I’m gonna take her up on that,” Chin said.
Chin, 29, was an established singer with an independently-released album in her native Jamaica before winning The Voice. Her major label debut, Count on My Love, was released last July.
Last March, she was honoured in Toronto at the University of West Indies benefit gala.
