Mavado is reportedly prepared for his 16-year-old son’s bail hearing, which is set for Tuesday, July 31.
The Dancehall superstar is reportedly looking forward to use all resources at his disposal to prove his son is innocent of murder.
The teenage boy, who was arrested on murder and conspiracy charges, in connection with the death of 22-year-old Lorenzo Thomas, is being held without bail at the Metcalfe Street Juvenile Remand Centre in Kingston.
His attorney, Bert Samuels, submitted a bail application earlier this month. However, the presiding judge was not able to make a definitive ruling.
Meanwhile, the prosecution has argued that the juvenile poses a flight risk and not be granted bail.
The teenager was charged along with 23-year-old man named Andre Hines. According to investigators, an eyewitness says Mavado’s son instructed Hines to behead Thomas, who was shot and chopped to death before his body burnt inside his home.
It is alleged that Thomas’ death is a reprisal killing in connection with a shooting incident where Mavado attacked in Cassava Piece, St Andrew just days before the man’s death.
Mavado, who is currently in the United States, has reportedly ignored warnings by law enforcement officials to turn himself in for questioning.
