Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel is set to unleash 1000 new songs over the next twelve months, Hype Life Magazine has learned.
On Tuesday, December 27, the incarcerated deejay sent his fans into a frenzy after announcing that he’ll be releasing 1000 new singles in 2017.
“Ruffmix . hear ma seh nuh man a 1,000 new song ,just get di 100GB sd card n get ready #GAZANATION,” Kartel wrote on social media.
A source close to the Jamaican artist told Hype Life Magazine exclusively that they have even more than that number in their possession.
“We have more than a thousand songs ready to be release so 2017 is going to be a total Vybz Kartel takeover,” he source revealed.
“This doesn’t necessarily mean we are going to release a thousand songs, but we have so much to choose from so fans can expect more hit songs, more quality music, more videos from Worl’Boss,” the source added.
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is currently serving a life sentence for murder. Despite being incarcerated since 2011, the “Worl Boss” deejay has remained relevant in Dancehall with a vast supply of new music.
In November, Kartel was abruptly transferred from the Horizon Remand Center to the Tower Street prison following an investigation into whether or not he has been recording music in prison. The “Fever” deejay has since denied the allegations, yet many fans are still convinced that his latest rain of new music are from recordings he did behind bars.
Vybz Kartel is currently expecting his appeal hearing in the Jamaican Appeal Court after providing the necessary documents seeking a new trial.
