’s lawyers recently give an update on the artist’s health issues in prison.

In April, music fans were sent into hysteria after several photos of the incarcerated Jamaican superstar surfaced online.

The “World Boss” deejay’s face was noticeably swollen in the pictures.

Fans were left to guess what ailment could have lead to the unusually features, with a majority purporting that it was from an undisclosed kidney issue.

Other fans even claimed there was a conspiracy, stating that unscrupulous and mysterious characters were trying to “poison the musician before his imminent release” and he’s in need of immediate medical care.

Lawyer Speaks On Vybz Kartel Health Crisis In Prison

However, it has recently been revealed by one of Kartel’s attorneys, Valerie Neita-Robertson, that the incarcerated deejay is receiving adequate medical care.

Tom Tavares-Finson, another of Kartel’s attorneys, has stated that “he has a thyroid issue, he had a crisis. He was admitted to the University Hospital. The crisis has been brought under control and he’s not in any danger at this time.”

Earlier this year, Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Azim Palmer, was rushed to the hospital and admitted in serious but stable condition for thyroid issues.

Neita-Robertson has stated that “they take him out of prison from time to time to receive medical treatment and he is under ongoing medical care.”

It was Kartel’s third visit to the hospital since his incarceration. In July 2015, he was rushed to the University Hospital for skin inflammation. In 2017, Kartel visited the same medical facility under heavy police guard after he complained about feel excruciating pain in his side.
