Vybz Kartel’s Dancehall hit single “Fever” continues to grip mainstream airwaves on the international market.
The lead single from his album “King of The Dancehall” has peaked at number 11 on the coveted iTunes Top 100 Reggae chart for the most popular downloads.
The Linton “TJ” White-produced single, which was released in May 2016, has been one of the biggest singles in Dancehall over the last year.
The summer banger has already racked up a combined 50 million views on YouTube with the music video alone has over 20 million and amassed over 10 million streams on Apple Music.
“Fever” is one of the biggest Dancehall singles this year and it has already made an impact on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, peaking at #36.
This is not Kartel’s first time on the Billboard chart. He has had Billboard success with songs like “Clarks,” and “Romping Shop.”
Kartel’s business partner, Michael Dawson, said the incarcerated deejay is in high demand in the US.
“I think people like Drake and Justin Bieber have brought back dancehall into the mainstream and Vybz Kartel is the best dancehall has right now, so he will be the most searched-for entertainer. In the States right now, Vybz Kartel is very popular, and mainstream radio has been playing a lot of dancehall music,” he said.
