Vybz Kartel's Lawyer Questions Judge Over Corrections To Summations

Lawyer for entertainer , Tom Tavares-Finson this morning questioned the judge in the murder trial on two notes passed to him by the registrar during his summation last week, according to reports.

Tavares-Finson, who was not at court last Friday, told Justice Lennox Campbell that on at least two occasions, notes were handed to him through the registrar, containing corrections.

The judge enquired as to what note, adding that the complaint is unusual.

Justice Campbell said he was of the view that Tavares-Finson had already asked the registrar about the note.

However, the lawyer responded that the registrar was present and the judge could make an enquiry.

However, Justice Campbell said he would not make any.

He also said he got no notes in relation to his summation.

Another lawyer in the case, Susan Dodd also said she was in court and believed what her colleague was referring to was an occasion when a police witness was referred to as a male.

The police witness was a female.

Justice Campbell said it is the usual practice that at the end of summations, a judge makes enquires to the prosecution and the defense on what was left out during summations to the jury.

The judge is still reviewing the evidence of the main witness.

The judge told the jurors that the witness is the only eye-witness in the case.

He told the jurors that they have to conclude whether the witness is one of truth or his evidence can be relied on.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is charged jointly with Kahira Jones; Shane Williams and André St John and fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell, also called Shawn Storm.

They are on trial for the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams over two missing guns.
