Nicki Minaj recently dropped off the music video, “Barbie Dreams,” the most-talked-about track from her latest album, Queen.
The Hype Williams-directed visual sees the female rapper getting seductive in a variety of colorful scenarios, accompanied by puppet impersonators of Drake, Lil Wayne, 6ix9ine among others.
On the song, Nicki Minaj calls out every rapper that’s tried to sleep with her throughout her career.
The track was inspired by Notorious B.I.G’s Ready to Die classic “Just Playing (Dreams)” and 50 Cent’s “How to Rob,” but it is not a diss track, according to Nicki Minaj.
“I only mentioned people in #BarbieDreams that I fuk wit. This isn’t a diss,” she explained.
“Yikes. This is culture, this is BIGGIE!!!!! New York!!!! This is FUN. Light hearted fun FUN.”
