The family dog, Lupo also makes an appearance in the photo alongside the happy family. The photo was taken in mid-March and was released ahead of the family’s fast approaching trips to New Zealand and Australia.

Safely in the arms of his mom, Kate Middleton, little George seems oblivious to the world outside his window at Kensington Palace. He’s looking straight at Lupo and the pooch — Prince William has an arm around him — seems to be looking back.

Wearing a jumper with his name, ‘George,’ across the front, just in case anyone doesn’t know who he is, the youngest royal is now all of eight months old.

The photograph, which features Prince George, was taken by Jason Bell. Jason also snapped the official portraits at Prince George’s royal christening at Clarence House in October 2013. That photo was also the last time we had an official and good look at the tiny prince.

The photograph features the family looking out of the window in Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace. The Duchess of Cambridge holds her son tight, while the Duke of Cambridge puts his arm around Lupo.
