Shenseea, who is a brand ambassado for Pepsi and Campari, was recently criticized after claiming her spot among the female Dancehall royalty when she dubbed herself Dancehall’s ‘princess’ on social media.
Her Instagram post took on a life of its own, sparking debate about which female dancehall artiste was deserving of the title princess, since Spice is the queen.
Many insiders were left upset at Shenseea’s comments, noting that although the mom of one may be commanding attention on the local and international music scene, she has not done nearly enough work.
In addition to being too young in the music business, online users accused Shenseea and her team of ‘buying’ social media followers and YouTube views to help propel her to the top.
Some fans suggested that the Jamaican singer has to work hard to try to surpass her Vybz Kartel-assisted single “Loodi.”
Shenseea is yet to respond to critics regarding her remark on being the “Princess of Dancehall.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with The FADER, the “Pon Mi” singer revealed that she met Romeich” in February 2015, when she was under his employ as a bottle girl at various events around the island,” and after “realizing her musical talent, they decided to work together.”
