“Soul Tek”, the first single on Mario Evon’s upcoming debut album ‘Reggae-Soul Volume 1: M.E. On Love,’ speaks to the often inexplicable and overwhelming emotions associated with the very human experience of infatuation.
The danceable one-drop groove, with a memorable melody, fuses elements of old school reggae and contemporary R&B, aptly conveying Evon’s signature Babyface meets Marley sound.
The music video for the single ‘Soul Tek’ was shot by in demand videographer, Reynaldo Martin, against the scenic background of rural Westmoreland.
The song, written and produced by Evon, was recorded in Bob Marley’s legendary Tuff Gong Studio and engineered, mixed and mastered by the notable, Rohan Dwyer.
It was released on September 10, 2013 and is available at all major online music distributors and streaming services worldwide.
Mario completed his degree in Songwriting and Music Business Management from the Berklee College of Music in December 2010, with honors, and is now living in New York, performing, developing his artistry and carefully piecing together his album, “Reggae Soul Vol. 1: M.E. on Love”.
Mario Evon, a seasoned performer, has graced the Jamaica Jazz and Blues talent and main stages, Christopher’s Jazz Bar, Redbones Blues Cafe, and made it to the final round of the Amateur Night competition at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC.
