Asafa Powell clocked 9.92 seconds but had to settle for second in the 100-metres at the IAAF diamond league meet in Lausanne.

In an explosive 100m race, Jamaica’s Asafa Powell had to settle for second place at the Lausanne Diamond League meet in Switzerland, after Justin Gatlin of the United States won the race in 9.75 seconds.

Powell finished in a time of 9.92 seconds ahead of Tyson Gay (9.92).

Novlene Williams-Mills was third in the 400 metres, which Barbadian Dhaunae Miller won in 49.92.

Nickel Ashmeade was eighth in the 200metres.
