The police on Sunday (Dec. 1) arrested eight men believed to be involved in a series of robberies in the business district of New Kingston.

The men were arrested after a one hour joint operation involving the New Kingston Police Post, the St Andrew Central Division and Delta Special Operations which started at midday on Sunday.

“The aim of this operation was to remove men of diverse sexual orientation who continue to plague the New Kingston area. 

These men are said to be involved in several robberies carried out in the area, they are also wanted for crimes, mainly larceny, malicious destruction of property where they have cut persons clothing off of them, they have broken into vehicles, these young men are creating havoc in the  New Kingston area,” said Christopher Murdoch, Commander in Charge of  the New Kingston Police Post.

The police say the operation yielded several stolen items.At least 5 other men; believed to be involved in robberies; were named as persons of  interest.

The men, who are known only by their aliases, ‘Marlene Malaboo-Forte’,  ‘Michelle’,  ‘Goodas’, Pebbles and ‘Bat Man’  are asked to turn  themselves in to the New Kingston Police Post or the nearest Police Station.  

All the men that were taken in on Sunday were processed and released.
