Video shows police confrontation with civilian which turns deadly
A video has surfaced on social media showing what appears to be a Jamaican policeman engaged in a confrontation with a civilian.
In the video, the policeman is attempting to arrest the civilian, but he appeared to have been resisting.
Onlookers questioned the policeman about the reason for wanting to arrest the man.
The police man later unholstered his firearm, some time after which an explosion was heard. The civilian was then seen on the floor.
Two policemen and another man in plain clothes removed the civilian outside of the frame of the video.
Several shouts were heard in the background urging the policemen to take the apparently injured man to the hospital.
Since the video was posted some five hours ago, several users of social media have commented, calling for action and justice.
The majority of the responses are ascribing blame to the members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The man, who has been identified as 44-year-old Garfield Coburn, was reportedly shot dead by police in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew, on Friday, March 6.
