Julia Roberts & George Clooney Reveal Why They Never Dated

George Clooney and Julia Roberts have openly discussed the idea of the pair being in an intimate relationship.

The American co-stars, who have known each other and worked together for many years, explained why they never considered dating each other during an interview with Access Online while promoting their upcoming film, ‘Ticket to Paradise.’

The actor and actress explained that they were both in committed relationships throughout the times they worked together on a project and they always thought of one another as friends, thus the idea of sleeping with each other never occurred to them.

“To not date each other? I don’t think we needed to state it,” Julia said when asked if she and George ever had a “no dating policy.”

“It just seemed the right thing to do,” she continued.

Meanwhile, George Clooney gave a more precise response, explaining that they were “always in a relationship” with someone else and that their friendship was “nothing but fun.”

“Julia was always in a relationship or I was in a relationship, and we were fast friends right away,” George stated.

“And so, it was nothing. It’s been nothing but fun for us. So, I don’t think that was ever really a thing,” he added.

“Yeah, it was never like, ‘Hi,’” Julia then playfully said to George to which he responded, “Hey, ooh, let’s take this to a different level.”

The 61-year-old actor and the 54-year-old actress eventually laughed at their comments while displaying their friendly bond.

George and Julia have known each other for decades, starred in multiple films together, including Money Monster and the Ocean’s franchise, and remained close freinds.

Julia Roberts, who has been married for 20 years to cinematographer Danny Moder, shares three kids, Henry and twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus. George Clooney shares fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella, with his wife, high-profile human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin).

‘Ticket to Paradise’ is a comedy and romance movie about two divorced parents, David and Georgia, who can’t stand each other, traveling to Bali after learning that their daughter, Lily, plans to marry a local islander she met while on vacation. In order to save Lily from making the same terrible mistake they did, they resolve to set aside their differences and work together to halt the wedding.

The Ol Parker-directed fim was released on October 21, 2022.
