Buju Banton revealed that he is preparing new music.
The Dancehall veteran recently linked up with top Jamaican producer Dave Kelly to work on new material. Taking to Instagram on Thursday (Oct. 31), Buju Banton highlighted a rare sighting of Dave Kelly working in the music studio, which immediately sent some fans, including DJ Khaled, Agent Sasco, Stephen ‘Di Genius” McGregor Lisa Hanna into a frenzy.
In the early 1990s, Dave Kelly was recognized as one of the masterminds behind the Buju Banton’s breakthrough album, “Mr. Mention.”
The Jamaican producer has also done production for the artiste’s gold-certified album, “Til Shiloh,” and is renowned for Dancehall riddims such as Showtime, Pepperseed, and Joyride.
It’s rumored that Buju Banton, since his released from prison last December, has been writing songs and reaching out to potential collaborators, according to the Guardian.
Sources also reported that there is at least one album in the pipeline from the Jamaican superstar.
