Shenseea (pronounced ˈs(H)en,ˈsee,ˈēə) born Chinsea Lee, entered into Jamaica’s music scene with “Loodi,” her 2016 collaboration with Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
In 2019, after signing with Interscope Records, she released a “Blessed” featured the American artist Tyga, and recently she was featured on “IDKW” by Rvssian with Swae Lee.
“At the moment, I’m trying to infuse my dancehall genre with pop music, but at the same time I cannot do it straight,” she revealed in an interview with Teen Vogue about blending her Jamaican patois with mainstream American lyricism.
Shenseea’s work ethic is, evidently, beyond reproach. The 23-year-old singer, who has already had shoutouts from A-listers 21 Savage, Cardi B, and Drake, is currently recording a full album.
She has secured multiple corporate sponsorship deals with companies such as Flow Jamaica, Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, and Campari Caribbean.
