Angela Simmons is mourning the loss of her ex-fiance and the father of her 2-year-old son after he was murdered in Georgia.
Authorities responded to a call of shots fired in a southwest Atlanta house Saturday afternoon, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Officers reportedly found a male with multiple gunshot wounds inside the home’s garage.
According to their preliminary investigation, the victim was talking to another male in the driveway when the conversation quickly escalated and the suspect shot Tennyson several times and then “sped from the scene in a car.”
The homicide unit of Atlanta’s Police Department is investigating the shooting but no arrests have been made so far.
Angela Simmons, the daughter of rap legend Rev. Run of Run DMC and the niece of record producer Russell Simmons, took to social media on Sunday to share a touching tribute to her former fiance.
She poste a picture of Tennyson holding their son, thanking him for “leaving behind my greatest gift.”
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” wrote the former Run’s House and Growing Up Hip Hop star.
“I’m hurting. I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone. I cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise❣️.”
In a second post, the actress shared a heartbreaking video of their son watching past footage of his dad.

“Reflecting. He keeps replaying it 💔 RIP Sutton,” Simmons’ captioned the photo.
Tennyson and Simmons got engaged in April 2016 and welcomed their son that September. The couple reportedly called off their engagement in December 2017 amid cheating rumors.
