Well-known attorney-at-law K.D. Knight has joined the defence team of dancehall entertainer Ninja Man.
The murder trial of the entertainer continues to be plagued by delays as it was once again pushed back when it was called up in court, in April.
Sources close to the prosecution told media reporters that so far, six witnesses have come forward to testify in the high profile murder trial.
“One of the main problem facing these high profile trials is the lack of witness as folks shy away from coming forward, but so far we have six witnesses,” the source said.
Ninjaman, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine, was expected to stand trial in the Home Circuit Court but it had to be pushed back because there is another case before it.
The matter, which has been before the courts since 2009, was re-scheduled in October 2013.
Ninja Man is accused of the March 16, 2009 murder of Richard Johnson.
He is jointly charged with his son Janiel and another man Dennis Clayton.
