Jamaican artiste  has achieved another international milestone with his smashing pop single “Cheerleader”, which was certified 2x platinum in the UK.

The Clarendon-born singer, 29, took to Twitter to make the announcement on Wednesday, and posted a picture of himself holding the double platinum plaque.

The BPI, which gives the certification in the UK also takes digital streams into consideration.

Cheerleader was first released in 2012.

A remix was released in 2014 and has gained global success in 2015.

Cheerleader grew to become an enormous international success this 12 months reaching number one in 20 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, and Germany.

OMI followed up with the release of Hula Hoop, taken off his debut album, Me 4 U, which was released in October, to mixed reviews.
