The viral photos, which appeared on Friday via social media, show the “Wanna Be Loved” singer hugging the woman as they get cozy.
In one of the images, Buju Banton is seen seemingly kissing her neck from back.
While many Dancehall fans and vbloggers speculated that it could be the Grammy-winning entertainer’s new love interest, others say they could be really good friends.
Despite the wagging tongues, Buju Banton has been silent about the photoraphs.
A source close to the artist allegedly told media reporters that the artist is not interested in addressing the controversy around the pictures.
“Buju is busy working to provide for himself and his family and has no time to address social media gossip,” the source said.
“His personal life is only his business and people should not stick there nose where it doesn’t belong.”
However, a social media user claimed to have information about the mystery woman.
“This is what I’ve got so far: Her name is Trish, she lives in Florida and is the mother of his son who is 8. She is close to 30 but young looking for her age. She was said to have been traveling with him during the tour which I believe because the 8 year old was with him in Nassau,” the fan wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Buju Banton performed in Guyana on Saturday at the National Stadium as part of his Long Walk To Freedom tour. The Jamaican superstar is slated to perform at Festival Village Grounds on June 15 and during St Kitts Music Festival on June 29. He will also headline Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, on July 20.
Following Buju Banton’s Caribbean tour dates, he will head to Europe. Among the stops are Cologne, Germany, for Summer Jam; Amsterdam, Netherlands for ASAF Live; Saconnex, Switzerland; Vertheuil, France for Reggae Sun Ska; and Geel, Belgium.
Buju Banton was released from a US prison in December of last year after serving 8 years of an 10-year sentence on drug charges. He is currently promoting his new song “Country For Sale” and is featured on American Hip-Hop producer DJ Khaled’s eleventh studio album “Father of Asahd.”
