Squash recently sent fans into a frenzy after a photograph of the “Allergy” deejay in hospital bed surfaced online.
Social media users quickly reposted the image issuing prayers while many speculated on the reason the Dancehall artist was hospitalized, according to reports.
However, a source close to Squash told Hype Life Magazine that the fast-rising deejay is “alive and well” and that the picture was “from his recent video shoot”.
“The six Boss is alive and well,” the source confirmed.
“The photo was from his recent video shoot and was uploaded without his knowledge,” the source added.
Squash, whose given name is Andre Whittaker, was released from police custody back in January after being detained for six months under the Emergency Powers Act. The Montego Bay-based deejay was reportedly taken into custody on August 8 during the state of emergency in St James. While the police listed the entertainer as a person of interest and kept him in custody for months, he maintained his lack of involvement in any criminal activity.
Squash is anticipating the staging of his event that will be held on March 29 at Sabina Park in Kingston. This will be Squash’s first major performance locally since being released from lock-up on January 20th, 2019. Teejay, Jada Kingdom, Shane O, and Shane E are some of the other acts scheduled to perform.
Squash is known for hits such as “Lavish”, “Trending,” and “Money Fever.”
