Vybz Kartel has finally returned to Instagram after a four-month hiatus.
In February, the incarcerated Dancehall superstar went quiet on Instagram after Jamaican authorities announced that they were investigating whether or not he has been recording music illegally in prison.
While it’s widely believed that Kartel has been recording songs in prison without permission, authorities confirmed that no evidence had emerged to confirm the suspicion.
Vybz Kartel has also denied the allegations saying that he has not been recording music in prison and insists that the new releases are sets of a massive deposit of unreleased vocal material left behind before his arrest.
Despite the upshot, Vybz Kartel’s active Instagram account went silent for several months, but that changed recently when his handler shared two audio snippets of his new singles, “Fight” featuring Slimatic and “Born Again Virgin.”
Fans of “Real Youth” deejay are celebrating his return to the social media platform.
“Top shotta is back 🔥,” a fan expressed.
“Miss you Daddy… guidance and protection mi pray for you. Bless up,” a fan wrote.
“Welcome back boss we miss you more health and strength you soon buss the appeal,” another fan added.
Kartel’s social media accounts are being managed by his his management team including his wife Shorty (Tanesha Johnson).
Meanwhile, Vybz Kartel and his defense team are gearing up for their next legal showdown in the Jamaica Appeal Court.
The appeal is set for February 19, 2018 and is expected to run for three weeks.
Vybz Kartel (Adidja Palmer), fellow entertainer Shawn Storm (Shawn Campbell), Kahira Jones, and Andre St John are currently serving life sentences for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
They are hoping to have their sentences overturned.
