A church in Jamaica is drawn into the public spotlight after it is alleged that in excess of $300mil were unaccounted for.

Members of a church and community in western has drawn the church into the public spotlight after it is alleged that in excess of $300mil were unaccounted for.

It is said that this church operates partially as a business with streams of income such as a printery and a shopping center under it’s control.

The audit is set out to identify how much money has been misappropriated on the books of the church, also, to identify exactly when the discrepancies in the accounting process started to occur.

One member of the church has described the situation as:

“The missing funds is the biggest talk in the community and western Jamaica.

It has to do with the sale of a property and other accounts of the church valued at 100 million each.”

It is believe that the alleged embezzlement began when an elder member of the church became ill and couldn’t help out with the management and operations of the church.
