Usain Bolt says he’s confident of defending his titles at the World Championships in Beijing in August.
Bolt was speaking to the media in London yesterday, ahead of his appearance in the 100 metres at today’s Diamond League meeting.
He says he has made personal sacrifices to return to his best form and extend his athletics career.
The 28-year-old says trying to get back to form has been much harder in comparison to his younger days.
He has also admitted to cutting back on his off track activities and incorporating a more stringent diet.
Bolt says he has given up chicken nuggets and is eating more vegetables.
He has been struggling with a pelvic injury but had compete at the diamond league meet in London on Friday clocking at 9.87 seconds in the 100m Heat.
The 15th World Championships in Athletics are scheduled to be held 22–30 August 2015 in Beijing, China.
The event will be the largest sporting event to take place at the Beijing National Stadium (“Bird’s Nest”) since the 2008 Summer Olympics.
